Avengers: Endgame juggled a larger cast of characters than any other MCU movie to date, but not all of them got equal emphasis in the Russo Brothers’ 181-minute adventure. And thanks to a new article from the Daily Mail, it seems we now have the screen times for each of the movie’s main players. Be warned that some spoilers lie ahead.
The labeled poster below is exclusively focused on heroes who survived the events of Avengers: Infinity War, and unsurprisingly, Marvel’s Phase 1 Trinity dominates the ranking. Captain America comes out top, having featured in 1 hour and 6 minutes of the movie. It certainly makes up for his relative lack of presence in Infinity War, though Iron Man isn’t far behind at 1 hour and 2 minutes. Thor, meanwhile, takes third place with 45 minutes.
After that comes Nebula at 41 minutes (which only figures, seeing how there were two of her for much of the movie), closely followed by Bruce Banner at 40 minutes. From here, going down the rankings, we come to Ant-Man (38 minutes), Hawkeye (37 minutes), Rocket (36 minutes) and War Machine (35 minutes). Out of the six Phase 1 Avengers, the hero to get the least screen time (for, ahem, obvious reasons) is Black Widow at a mere 33 minutes.
Near the bottom of the list is Captain Marvel, whose bookend appearances add up to just 15 minutes. However, even she was around a fair bit longer than Valkyrie (8 minutes), Okoye (6 minutes) and Wong (6 minutes).
All in all, it’s clear that Avengers: Endgame has followed through on Kevin Feige’s claim that the Phase 1 heroes would be the focus of the film. That being said, don’t be surprised if some of the above list’s lower rankers see a serious boost in prominence once Marvel’s Phase 4 gets underway.
