Zack Snyder Teases First Look At The Zombies In Army Of The Dead

With the highly publicized fiasco that was Justice League‘s production well behind us, I think it’s safe to say we’ve all been waiting with bated breath for Zack Snyder's next movie. Well, this may come as a shock to some, but it’s not something to be released under the umbrella of Warner Bros. Rather, Army of the Dead will debut on the Netflix streaming service once it’s ready.

As you’ve no doubt surmised, this picture will be a “zombie horror thriller,” a prospect that actually excites me because I quite enjoyed Snyder’s 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead. That said, those in agreement with me are probably jazzed to see him return to the genre.

So, if you’re in the same boat, then you’ll definitely want to check out this behind-the-scenes photo that’s begun circulating on social media. Seen below, Snyder can be spotted filming what appears to be one grotesque zombie. Unfortunately, the flesh-eater is out of focus, but this exhibit is doing a fine job of whetting my appetite.

From the sound of it, Snyder can hardly contain his own jubilation, telling The Hollywood Reporter the following a few months back:

“I love to honor canon and the works of art, but this is the opportunity to find a purely joyful way to express myself though a genre. It will be the most kick-ass, self-aware — but not in a wink-to-the-camera way — balls-to-the-wall zombie freakshow that anyone has ever seen. No one’s ever let me completely loose [like this].

“I love big action, I love big sequences. My movie brain starts clicking around and I was like, ‘We need to be shooting this now!’ Constructing these sequences really fired me up.”

If that weren’t enough, the flick will feature former WWE Champion and Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista in a key role. That being said, it’s advised you keep watching this space as Army of the Dead continues taking shape.
