Avengers: Endgame‘s now been in cinemas for 10 days and in that time, countless hardcore Marvel lovers have seen the movie as much as possible, reliving the awesome highs and emotional lows of the grand conclusion to the MCU as we know it. As there’s so much to pay attention to, though, it’s not surprising that the Russo brothers are telling us there’s still a lot left to uncover in Endgame.

While chatting with CinemaBlend on their ReelBlend podcast, Joe Russo was speaking about getting Ty Simpkins back as Harley Keener from Iron Man 3 for Tony Stark’s funeral scene. As Simpkins has grown up so much since 2013, the filmmaker described his role as “a deep easter egg.” This then led him to comment that there are many more where that came from: “There are quite a few Easter eggs in the movie people still haven’t identified,” Russo teased.

Honestly, this isn’t shocking to hear at all. At 3 hours in length and with a plot involving time travel and all sorts, Endgame is an incredibly dense film and is easily the most fan-servicing of any Marvel movie to date. Of course, audiences have already uncovered numerous easter eggs, but it’s fun to know we’ll still have to hunt a lot harder when we eventually get the pic on home video.

Some of the best easily-missed easter eggs we’ve already noticed include the reference to Captain Britain during the scene where Steve Rogers spies on Peggy Carter in 1970 – which, given his ties to the X-Men, could be very significant – and the hilarious fact that Howard the Duck participated in the big final battle against Thanos’ forces.

This is apparently just the tip of the iceberg, though. So, if you’ve got any other cool little details you noticed while watching Avengers: Endgame, be sure to let us know in the comments section down below.
