While Avengers: Endgame is continuing its historic domination at the box office, Marvel has begun its marketing campaign for its next feature, Spider-Man: Far From Home. Last night, several members from the cast – Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhaal, Zendaya, Cobie Smulders, and Jacob Batalon – appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss the crazy success of their newly-released trailer.

But the actors also brought something with them that’s very special: our first official action clip from the upcoming film. Tom Holland fans, please don’t be turned off by the title of this post, because the majority of the clip shows how Peter Parker and his classmates react to Hydro-Man’s sneak attack. The web-slinger manages to get his friends to safety, and quickly springs into action. He hurdles piling after piling to try and take on the Elemental by himself, but is quickly incapacitated.

And this is when the good stuff kicks in. Just when it seems the slumped Peter looks like he’s about to take another hard aquatic hook, Mysterio flies in to save the day.

With magical green mist (for lack of a better term) coming off him from top to bottom, it’s safe to say that Jake Gyllenhaal is going to be awesome as Quentin Beck in July. However, we’re not entirely sure what his place is in the MCU. The man who usually takes a villainous role in the Spidey comics appears to be a good guy here, but then again, this Mysterio doesn’t seem to hail from our world.

We’ll figure out what exactly Gyllenhaal will be doing once Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 2nd. And with the massive changes to the cinematic universe teased by the end of Endgame, it’ll be interesting to see how he and Tom Holland work through the consequences.
