Marvel’s Disney Plus TV Shows Will Take Place After Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame changed the status quo of the MCU in so many ways that fans have been theorizing how future installments in the franchise will follow on from it. When it came to Marvel's upcoming Disney Plus TV series, the only explanation seemed to be that they had to be set before it. Otherwise, how would Loki (only alive in another timeline), WandaVision (the latter is dead) and Falcon and Winter Soldier (Falcon's now Captain America) make sense?

Well, apparently, the Disney Plus shows will be set post-Endgame. Fan page La Buhardilla Marvel is claiming that Disney CEO Bob Iger has confirmed that all of the Marvel series due to arrive on the streaming service will not be prequels and take place after the events of the fourth Avengers movie.

Here’s what the tweet said, translated from the original Spanish:

“Bob Iger has just confirmed that all Disney Plus series from Marvel Studios will occur after the events of ‘ Avengers: ENDGAME ‘.”

This is just one source for now, so we’d best not take this info as red until we hear more. However, it does fit with what we’ve been told from other Marvel figures. Anthony Mackie certainly believes the F+WS show will be about life after Steve Rogers, and a Loki series could follow the extended life of the Loki from the alternate 2012 timeline. As for WandaVision, rumors point to that focusing on Scarlet Witch’s attempts to resurrect her android beau.

Intriguingly, it sounds like the Disney Plus material will be where the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame is mostly explored while the movies jump around the MCU time stream. For instance, films like Black Widow, The Eternals and Captain Marvel 2 are thought to be prequels. This should mean that the TV series will be even more must-sees than they already were for fans.
