Unlike the last preview, it definitely goes some way to clearing up the plot a bit more and from what we can see here, Once Upon a Time will focus on on aging Western TV star Rick Dalton (DiCaprio) and his friend and stunt double Cliff Booth (Pitt), who set out on an odyssey to make a name for themselves in the movie industry. Of course, along the way they’ll meet a number of colorful characters and perhaps most interesting of all is that the story unfolds around the time of the Manson Family murders, with Margot Robbie playing Sharon Tate

The preview doesn’t really dive too much into that aspect of the film, and we’ve already been told not to expect a Manson movie here, but it’ll be interesting to see how heavily the event plays into Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

As with Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained before it, Tarantino’s latest really seems to revel in the style of its period, evoking a rush of nostalgia for 1969 Hollywood that Once Upon a Time in Hollywood may be looking to subvert. All things considered, though, this appears to be another volatile blend of action and pop culture from a filmmaker who knows what his brand is.

Throw in an all-star cast who seem to be giving top notch performances, a fantastic recreation of the 1960s and a story that looks highly entertaining, and all the signs point to Tarantino delivering yet another hit when Once Upon a Time in Hollywood arrives in theaters on July 26th, 2019.
