Those who’ve already taken the time to watch Avengers: Endgame won’t be forgetting its finale anytime soon. The conclusion to the long-running Infinity Saga (which is comprised of over 20 films) provided a satisfying end to a handful of storylines, and for the most part, it seems fans were pleased with what the Russo brothers came up with. Of course, while there were plenty of action scenes and epic battles to get our blood pumping, there were also plenty of tearjerking moments interspersed throughout.
Aside from the death of both Iron Man and Black Widow, the film also focused on how the rest of the world tried to move on after Thanos’ destructive snap. With half of all lifeforms disappearing in an instant, there was a lot of heartbreak and grief to process, and even five years later, many hadn’t gotten over the loss of their friends and loved ones. This phenomenon wasn’t relegated to Earth alone, though. The Mad Titan’s actions affected everyone far and wide, and a recently unearthed cameo shows just how grief-stricken one Guardian of the Galaxy was.
As pointed out by Reddit user WolfBrigadell, during the five-year time jump seen in Avengers: Endgame, Rocket Raccoon adopted a new look while he continued to defend the galaxy with Nebula. His outfit, which is far more accurate to his appearance in the comic books, features a flowing red scarf, and it turns out this particular item of clothing belonged to Peter Quill/Star-Lord, who wore it throughout Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Yep, it seems as if, presumably as a way of expressing his grief and loss, Rocket chose to honor his friend by wearing his scarf. Thankfully, the entire crew (and a few trillion lifeforms) were all brought back into existence at the end of Avengers: Endgame, but that doesn’t make the (temporary) loss any easier to swallow.
