Arnold Schwarzenegger To Star In Stan Lee’s Superhero Kindergarten TV Show

Aside from his long resume as an actor, if there's anything I've known Arnold Schwarzenegger to be during my time, it's an advocate for children. In addition to starring in some family friendly movies along the way, the former Governator has done his part to make sure people open their hearts to kids in need.

Well, one of his next endeavors is set to entertain the younger crowd, and it’ll arrive in the form of Stan Lee’s Superhero Kindergarten. Believe it or not, the recently departed comic book legend had an iron in the fire before his passing, which’ll serve as one of his final gifts to the world. In fact, he even managed to lend his voice to the show!

According to Variety, Arnie’s character in the animated series, Arnold Armstrong, used to be “an average gym teacher before he was imbued with superpowers when the earth passed through the ionic dust left in the wake of a mysterious comet. He becomes Captain Courage, one of Earth’s greatest protectors.”

Here’s a bit more of the character description:

“However, after a battle with his arch nemesis, Dr. Superior, he expended all of his powers in defeating his foe, and forced to end his career as Captain Courage — until a massive explosion of super-energy particles came raining down and rumors of super-powered children began surfacing. Now, he serves as a kindergarten teacher who secretly trains the new generation of young superheros.”

Mr. Freeze Batman Robin

Of course, Schwarzenegger himself had something to say about this as well:

“It is an honor and privilege to work with Genius Brands and POW! Entertainment on this new series and help carry on Stan’s creative legacy by introducing this new group of superheros to preschool children around the world. Not only does Stan Lee’s ‘Superhero Kindergarten’ feature comedy and action, but there are many valuable lessons to be learned along the way! Of particular pride to me is the fact that I am not only teaching kids to use their superpowers, but I am also imparting valuable lessons to kids worldwide about the importance of health, exercise, and nutrition.”

If you’ll recall, this isn’t Arnold’s first foray into that formative year of education. As it so happens, one of his movies most accessible to all ages was that of Kindergarten Cop, in which he played an undercover police officer masquerading as a schoolteacher. To this day, I’m still wanting to know “who is your daddy and what does he do?”
