J.K. Rowling Releasing Four Brand New Harry Potter Books

Even though Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald didn't exactly hit the mark, Harry Potter fans from all over are eagerly awaiting the third film in the spinoff series, and for good reason. While they might never live up to the expectations set by the original books, wizarding wannabes are still hungry for more tales of magic, and with J.K. Rowling mostly focusing on her adult novels (written under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith), longtime devotees have turned to the movies to get their fix.

Of course, not everyone is a fan of the big screen adaptations, and if you’ve been clamoring for another good read to dive into, you’re in luck. As reported by ComicBook.com, Rowling will be releasing four brand new Harry Potter books, though these might not be the lengthy novels you’re accustomed to.

In a social media post shared on the official Pottermore Twitter account, four non-fiction eBook shorts were announced, with all of them releasing under the Harry Potter: A Journey Through banner.

As opposed to full-length novels that continue the story of Harry and co., it looks like Rowling will be releasing a handful of short guides, providing some much-needed lore and background information about the wizarding world we’ve come to love. In fact, this isn’t the first time she’s chosen to release companion pieces for the series. Back in 2001, J.K. published both Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Quidditch Through the Ages, and a few years later, The Tales of Beedle the Bard hit store shelves.

The four so-called eBook shorts are titled as follows:

  • Harry Potter: A Journey Through Charms and Defence Against the Dark Arts
  • Harry Potter: A Journey Through Potions and Herbology
  • Harry Potter: A Journey Through Divination and Astronomy
  • Harry Potter: A Journey Through Care of Magical Creatures

The first digital book, themed around charms and the defense against the dark arts, is due on out June 27th, and it’s currently available for pre-order on Amazon for a mere $2.99. Personally, we can’t wait to check them all out for ourselves, and we’re hoping that we haven’t seen the last of these bite-sized Harry Potter releases.
