Spider-Man: Far From Home Producer Teases Another Secret Villain

Though Spider-Man: Far From Home is still one month and one day away from release, the upcoming MCU movie’s promotional footage has already given fans a pretty good idea of the kind of adventure to expect. That being said, the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel still has a few more secrets to yield, including the identities of an additional villain or two.

While Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio looks likely to be the movie’s main antagonist, Far From Home also packs a few supporting baddies known as the Elementals. Two such characters confirmed for the film are Hydro-Man and Molten Man. On top of that, the trailers have prominently featured a rock- and sand-based creature that many have assumed to be Sandman.

When the subject of this unnamed villain was raised in a recent interview with Total Film, executive producer Eric Carroll chose to keep the fans guessing. However, while discussing the matter of the potential Sandman, he also hinted at another Elemental that we’ve yet to see.

“We went digging and found characters,” Carroll said. “I’m not going to say exactly which ones yet, because we want to leave some dots for fans to connect.”

As it stands, the fans have a few more weeks to “connect the dots” on just who Sony might still be hiding from us. Elementals aside, one villain that the rumor mill keeps insisting will soon join the MCU is Norman Osborn. It’s even been a popular theory for a while now that the Avengers Tower has been purchased by Oscorp.

Time will tell if the hearsay and speculation has it right, but either way, it’s clear that Spider-Man: Far From Home is going to be an exceptionally villain-heavy outing. And we’ll find out how the film juggles all these antagonists when it arrives in theaters on July 2nd.
