Stan Lee May Cameo In Marvel’s Avengers Video Game

Going back years, it's become expected that True Believers be treated to a Stan Lee cameo whenever the latest film based on a Marvel property hits theaters. Granted, it hasn't happened in every instance, but we're all guaranteed to smile whenever "The Man" suddenly pops up as some random character. Whether it be in a production from either Disney, Fox or Sony, there was always a chance for the legend stopping by.

Unfortunately, the recently released Endgame was the last cameo Stan was able to put in before his untimely passing. Still, the possibility remains that we may see him once the much buzzed about Marvel’s Avengers video game drops next year.

While speaking with creative director Bill Rosemann, Gamespot asked him whether Lee’s virtual counterpart will appear in Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ interactive adventure just as he did in Spider-Man’s Playstation 4 opus. Although all he served up was a “Well, we can’t talk about that right now,” that’s certainly enough to fan the flames.

Should this go in the direction we’d all hope, that’d be one more feather in the cap for this already highly anticipated game. Seriously, last night’s trailer reveal lit up social media like you wouldn’t believe. If you were to ask me, having it arrive even a year after Endgame shouldn’t matter because the brand recognition is just that strong. As long as Square Enix keeps consumer interest between now and then by dropping more epic trailers, then they’ll be printing money before long.

For more info, be sure to check out the official synopsis:

Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Marvel’s Avengers arrives on May 15th, 2020 on Playstation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC.
