Ray Fisher Doesn’t Think His Time As Cyborg Is Over Yet

In particular, it’s been a very long time since we heard any encouraging news about the Cyborg solo flick, but for what it’s worth, it sounds like Fisher is still hopeful that he’ll wear the suit again some day. The True Detective actor was in attendance at this weekend’s Celebrity Fan Fest, where he was asked about the possibility of reprising the role of Victor Stone. Though Fisher admitted that such matters are above his pay grade, he reportedly offered the following tease of future outings:

“I don’t think my time is over yet.”

After months of silence on the matter, one vaguely optimistic remark doesn’t exactly refute the popular rumor that Fisher is done playing Cyborg. Still, for anyone hoping to see him back in the DCEU, perhaps you can take it as an encouraging sign that the star himself doesn’t think he’s out of the game.

In the last couple of years, the DCEU has seen the departure of several of its biggest stars, from Ben Affleck to Will Smith to (probably) Henry Cavill. Even Jared Leto’s Joker is showing no signs of returning, as the actor moves on to new work in Sony’s Marvel universe.

It’s clear that the franchise is currently moving into a very different era, and whether or not there’s still a place for Cyborg in the saga remains to be seen. In the meantime, the DCEU continues to expand with the release of Birds of Prey on February 7th, 2020.
