John Boyega Hints That He’s Unhappy With Disney’s Star Wars Films

It's becoming apparent that the writers over at Disney who handle their Star Wars films either aren't Game of Thrones fans, or don't get on Twitter too often. If they paid attention though, they might realize that come January, there might be some major damage control going on.

John Boyega, along with his Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker co-star Mark Hamill, has been very vocal lately about his dislike for the Sequel Trilogy. As you can see below, someone recently posted a comment on Twitter stating the similarities between the hatred of GoT‘s final season and Star Wars fans’ disdain for the direction the saga is heading in.

Boyega immediately replied, saying the following:

When GoT aired its final episode, longtime fans and stars alike were very public about their feelings for the ending. Boyega seems to be promising a similar uprising here, so we might be seeing some pretty juicy stuff early next year. After all, Redditors have also noticed that he “liked” a Tweet calling The Last Jedi a train wreck.

That Twitter exchange was back in May though, and since then, the actor has hinted that he’s not happy with the writing in the films, either, tweeting the following the other week:

He seemed to take the hit from Grand Master Biti very well. After all, an actor can’t control how well their character is written, and Boyega knows that.

Likewise, Hamill has publicly stated his feelings about the direction Rian Johnson took his character Luke in. However, he later publicly apologized for them.

Hopefully Boyega will go about his protest of the films peacefully like Hamill. But then again, nice tweets don’t tend to get shared as much as angry ones, so this could get ugly.

Fans haven’t missed the irony with the comparison between Game of Thrones and Star Wars, either. The writers of the show have now taken over directing the next installment of the space saga, and we all can’t help but be a little worried. But first up we’ve got Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker to look forward to, and it’ll certainly be interesting to see what the cast have to say once it’s out in theaters.
