Many fans will likely have tears in their eyes when Rey’s arc concludes in Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker. According to Daisy Ridley though, they won’t be the only ones. The actress who’s played the iconic character since 2015 recently admitted that she definitely became overcome with emotion during the last day of filming.
Speaking in a recent interview, she said the following:
“John [Boyega] wrapped, so I was already like hysterically crying. And then I wrapped and I did a speech and I cannot remember what I said. I kept going I’m really sorry, I’m really sorry. The whole crew was there. It was like embarrassing and obviously people recorded it I still can’t tell you what I said.”
It’s hard to blame Ridley for such an overt display of affection. After all, this franchise has completely changed her life since she first entered it four years ago. While she may never be able to use social media again due to crazy fans, she’s also become one of the biggest names in Hollywood.
Even after Star Wars, the talented actress is likely to have a storied career much like fellow series alums Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, James Earl Jones and more. Warner Bros. is already reportedly eying her for the part of Batgirl, which could make her a fixture in two major franchises all before she even turns 30. DC would be smart to snatch up the rising star now, too, before Marvel swoops in to try to make her a part of their ever-expanding universe.
Ridley will reportedly not star in any of the upcoming trilogies for the SW franchise, which means that this next film will likely be the last that fans see of Rey for a while. Barring an unlikely death scene though, the character’s bound to return to the series down the road in much the same way the original cast did. Until then, however, fans should enjoy Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which the actress promises is a “brilliant end” to the saga.
