Ahsoka Tano

Lucasfilm Hoping To Include Ahsoka Tano In A Future Star Wars Movie

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will wrap up the Skywalker saga this December, but that's far from the end of the franchise on the big screen. Lucasfilm is already working on two new trilogies: one from Game of Thrones creators Benioff and Weiss, probably set in the distant past, and one from The Last Jedi's Rian Johnson, set post-Rise. The studio's plans seem to be to pluck from across the wide scope of the Star Wars universe. Including, it appears, the animated series.

We Got This Covered has heard that Lucasfilm want Ahsoka Tano in a future Star Wars movie (or, failing that, a live-action show on Disney Plus). Our source tells us that they’re very keen on bringing her to the big screen for the first time. We’ve even heard that she could show up in one of the upcoming trilogies. This isn’t confirmed yet, but Benioff and Weiss’ is thought to be based on the Knights of the Old Republic games, set way before Ahsoka’s time of the Clone Wars. Given that, it’s likely that she would turn up in Johnson’s trilogy.

As introduced in The Clone Wars series, Ahsoka is the Jedi Padawan of Anakin Skywalker, though she later steps away from the Order and goes at it alone. Rebels revealed that she survived the wars and explained where she was during the events of the Original Trilogy: helping the Ghost crew search for lost Jedi Ezra Bridger. So, canon suggests she’s out there somewhere in the Sequel Trilogy as well, meaning it wouldn’t be too difficult to get her in the movies.

In fact, Rosario Dawson has previously voiced her interest in playing Ahsoka in a live-action Star Wars film, and fans have always thought the Daredevil actress would be perfect for the part. At the moment, though, it sounds like it’s too early in the process for Lucasfilm to have considered casting yet so we’ve no idea who could end up playing the character. Assuming this even develops into something concrete, that is.
