The latest scoop is that Timothy Zahn’s book Star Wars: Thrawn: Treason may contain spoilers for the next entry in the series. More specifically, it appears that the book’s discussion of the first Death Star gives clues to its reappearance in The Rise of Skywalker.

According to the official Star Wars website, one sequence involves a meeting between leading figures from the Empire, including Grand Admiral Thrawn, Grand Moff Tarkin, Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine. An excerpt details problems with an “equipment transfer point,” and frustrations with the plans that lead to Thrawn being put in charge of getting “Project Stardust” back on track. For those not in the know, “Project Stardust” refers to the Death Star.

But how does this actually affect the newer Death Star? Well, according to EpicStream.com, Thrawn is likely heading to where the Death Star’s being built, which in all probability is the same location of the remains of the station seen in the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer. Sure, it’s a bit of a stretch, but it’s not above Lucasfilm to seed clues to movies in other media, with the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge theme park appearing to contain some easter eggs.

In any case, the new Star Wars book hits shelves and online platforms on July 23rd, so we won’t have long to wait to see if there are any spoilers for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. In the meantime, we’ll keep an eye out for all the latest news in anticipation of what promises to be a strong conclusion to this chapter of the saga.
