Action icon Sylvester Stallone is in the midst of a huge 12 months, and we couldn’t be more excited about it.

The former Rocky star will soon be seen headlining the eagerly awaited Rambo V: Last Blood, which is currently eyeing a theatrical release this September and looks bloody fantastic. And as if that wasn’t enough nostalgia for you, we also know that Stallone is officially locked in for The Expendables 4, which should be with us at some point next year.

Of course, the project has been gestating for a very long time now, after the star’s alleged fallout with Nu Image/Millennium chairman Avi Lerner cast doubt over him reprising his role as the cigar-chomping Barney Ross. But even if there were signs of bad blood at first, it seems everything is good to go in The Expendables camp. Which is just as well, considering Stallone is now hyping up the film over on Instagram, teasing us with a new post by saying that he’s now “cooking up the next adventure.”

Unfortunately, Stallone didn’t offer much more than that, leaving fan to wonder just who will be returning alongside him when we see the gang on screen again. Jason Statham and Dolph Lundgren seem like the safe bets, but we imagine that Wesley Snipes, Jet Li, and Star Wars legend Harrison Ford have all departed the franchise for good. Ditto for Bruce Willis, who was originally going to be in The Expendables 3 before a messy fall out with Stallone.

Still, it’s nice to know that The Expendables 4 is definitely a thing that exists. And we’ll likely learn more about Stallone’s direction for the forthcoming sequel as production continues to gear up, so stay tuned.
