Far From Home Director Wants To Bring Back This Homecoming Character In Spider-Man 3

Though nothing's confirmed yet, we'll probably be getting a third Spider-Man film in the MCU, and director Jon Watts wants to bring back this character.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t one to avoid the “occasional” crowd-pleaser.

Of course, that’s a bit of an understatement for a series of films practically drowning in easter eggs and cameo appearances (RIP Stan Lee). And the more popular the entity, the more teases you’re going to get. That’s the Marvel way.

With that said, the people behind our friendly, neighborhood web-head’s sprinkled quite the number of sweets into its properties (I mean, did you see Into the Spider-Verse?). And Spider-Man: Far From Home‘s no different. Everyone, including Tom Holland, went ecstatic for that film’s mid-credits surprise cameo. So it’s no surprise that director Jon Watts, who was also at the helm of 2017’s Homecoming, has already got something up his sleeve.

At the end of Spidey’s first lone venture in the MCU, Peter Parker had to say goodbye to his romantic interest, Laura Harrier’s Liz, who moved to Oregon with her mother. Of course, there was good reason. Besides the fact that she’s the daughter of Adrian Toomes (a.k.a. The Vulture), their relationship would’ve been incredibly complicated. But it’s sounding like her story isn’t ending there.

In a recent interview with CinemaBlend, Watts revealed he’s had thoughts about bringing Harrier back for a third Spider-Man movie, which hasn’t been green-lit yet, though it’s probably only a matter of time in the wake of Far From Home.

Here’s how he put it:

“Oh yeah. I mean like, yeah, we talked about it a little bit. I mean, that’s something that I would love to explore more [in] future films.”

Given her importance in Homecoming and the comics, it’d be pretty amazing to think that Liz’d never come back to the MCU. Though she may’ve moved across the country, her father’s still alive in prison, so it’s possible all three may cross paths again.

But what are your thoughts on this? What’s the best way to bring Liz back into Peter’s life? Let us know what you think in the comments section below, and be sure to check out all the easter eggs in Spider-Man: Far From Home as it’s in theaters now.
