Star Trek: The Next Generation

Jonathan Frakes And Marina Sirtis Also Returning For Star Trek: Picard

Star Trek: Picard had a huge panel earlier today at San Diego Comic-Con and among many other thing, it was revealed that some old faces would be returning.

Patrick Stewart’s Jean-Luc Picard is on the verge of a major return, that much we already know, but what about his former crew?

Yes, as you’ve surely heard, Picard will soon feature in a new Star Trek show coming to us from CBS and franchise architect Alex Kurtzman, with the premise set to be a standalone drama that’ll focus on Picard’s next steps in Starfleet now that The Next Generation is no longer with us.

But that’s just it. With the aforementioned show still missed by millions around the globe, fans have been wondering if the likes of LeVar Burton and Gates McFadden may reunite with Stewart on Picard. Well, as for those two in particular, we still don’t know, but thanks to a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, we can confirm that at least a few of The Next Generation cast will be involved.

Earlier today, it was announced that Brent Spiner will be back as Data but in all the excitement that reveal caused, some may not have heard that Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis are set to return as well. They didn’t feature in the new trailer that was shown, but rest assured, they’ll both be back to reprise their roles from TNG, meaning it’s very likely we’ll eventually see the remainder of the crew as well.

But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. For now, we can look forward to some of Jean-Luc’s closest friends joining him on his next adventure and given what we know of it so far, it’s looking like Star Trek: Picard is going to be something truly special when it touches down on CBS All Access early next year.
