Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness Could Introduce Blade Into The MCU

It’s safe to say that Marvel stole the show at San Diego Comic-Con 2019.

Though it was expected that the megalopolis of a film studio would announce how it’s intending to move forward following the mammoth, record-breaking success of Avengers: Endgame, they really outdid themselves this time, bringing into reality 10 new projects and telling us when we can expect to see them.

Among the several sequels and TV series was the mysteriously titled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the next highly-anticipated solo adventure for Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange. Since the film’s not slated to release until May 7th, 2021, Marvel’s going to be doing its thing and not reveal any kind of plot details for a while yet. So, fans will be spending their time filling in the holes.

Given Strange’s role in Endgame, having brought back the entire company of vanished heroes to face off against Thanos, it’s easy to assume that the Sorcerer Supreme could introduce one of the many new characters Marvel Studios is planning on bringing to life. And the latest theory, courtesy of ScreenRant, suggests that one of them might be Mahershala Ali’s vampire hunter, Blade.

The reboot starring the Academy Award-winning actor was another one of the projects announced in Hall H last weekend. While it’s possible that we won’t see Ali until the pic’s released, Marvel hasn’t been bringing characters into its universe cold turkey for a while now. Even Captain Marvel, who didn’t show up on screen until her solo film earlier this year, was teased in Infinity War. So, the question remains: how are they going to bring Blade back?

Well, what about the Multiverse of Madness? While a lot of fans have suggested that this dimension could bring in the X-Men, ScreenRant points out that the film’s being classified as a horror movie. And what does that mean? You guessed it, vampires.

While I think of Abraham Lincoln when it comes to the best hunters of these fanged beasts, there’s a connection in the comics that also supports the argument. Apparently, vampires were brought into the comic world because of a book of forbidden magic. That book, believe it or not, was created by Chthon, the mystic being who’s chosen Scarlet Witch as his vessel.

Now, one of the few things that’s known about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the fact that Elizabeth Olsen will be co-starring as Wanda Maximoff. All of the sudden, the stars seem to be aligning here quite nicely, don’t they?
