Edgar Wright’s Last Night In Soho Gets A 2020 Release Date

Edgar Wright's new psychological horror film, Last Night In Soho, will be released into theaters on September 25th, 2020, reports Bloody Disgusting.

He’s the genius mind behind Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and the thrilling Baby Driver, but for his next outing, writer-director Edgar Wright will be venturing into dark and dangerous waters given that he’s looking to tackle psychological horror with Last Night In Soho.

From what we know so far, the mysterious new project will be inspired by Don’t Look Now and Roman Polanski’s Repulsion, and takes place in central London, as the name suggests. Plot details are still being kept tightly under wraps, unfortunately, but we understand that Wright will be working from a screenplay co-written by Krysty Wilson-Cairns, who you might know from her work on the Penny Dreadful series.

Beyond all that, there’s not much we can tell you about the project, but with production now gearing up, the pic has been handed a release date of September 25th, 2020, meaning we’ll be seeing it in just over a year. And when it arrives, it’ll boast a cast featuring Anya Taylor-Joy and Matt Smith, among others.

Wright will be working in tandem with Focus and Working Title on Last Night in Soho and with shooting getting underway as we speak, we should begin to learn more about what the filmmaker’s got cooked up for us in no time at all. Especially now that we know it’ll be hitting theaters in September of 2020.

Whatever it is that Last Night in Soho brings us though, you can be sure that it’ll be another wild, inventive and exhilarating watch. After all, Edgar Wright has rarely disappointed in the past and seeing him venture back into the horror genre should prove to be a real treat. As always, watch this space for further updates.
