Marvel Studios Teases Huge Infinity Saga Box Set With Deleted Scenes

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently teased a box set for the entire Infinity Saga, complete with even more deleted scenes.

While the MCU is essentially “done” for the year – Spider-Man: Far From Home was the final film of 2019, and new movies and Disney Plus TV shows won’t premiere until 2020 – there’s still plenty to get excited about.

Just last week, Avengers: Endgame released on digital platforms, and fans have been diving into the bonus featurettes and deleted scenes, along with a commentary featuring directors Joe and Anthony Russo and co-writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Similarly, those who have a penchant for physical media are probably eyeing the Blu-Ray and 4K versions, which are set to hit store shelves on August 13th.

That being said, there’s probably one burning question at the back of everyone’s minds: Will we be getting a box set for the first three phases of the MCU? After all, the appeal of such a collection makes a lot of sense. Not everyone has kept up with DVD and Blu-ray releases, and so far, 23 movies have come out that need purchasing.

Worse yet, over the past decade-plus, some MCU fans inevitably missed out on a few films or split their collection across multiple formats. Needless to say, the chance to get every Phase 1, 2, and 3 movie in one collection with a ton of special features and deleted scenes would be hard to pass up.

It’s by no means confirmed, but as ComicBook.com reports, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently teased that a complete box set may be on the way while speaking with Empire Magazine.

“If we do a big, giant Infinity Saga box set, we might include- I’m assuming if you’re going to spend the money to buy a box set with everything in it, you’re a fan,” Feige explained. “And it’ll take more than a couple of really, really bad scenes to turn you.”

“I like sharing those scenes,” Feige said of a deleted Endgame scene. “And when we have something like that that we love, and which was not an easy decision to cut out but was the best decision for the movie, it’s a great avenue to say, ‘We’ll put it out there.’ It’s not like no-one will ever see it. There are things that we think nobody should ever see. And I think we’ve just recently been discussing that now we can start to show some of our less proud moments.”

Of course, even if a collection were to be released, there’s a good chance we’ll have to wait a while for it to hit store shelves. After all, Spider-Man: Far From Home is still in theaters, and Marvel will probably want to drop that one on its own before it turns toward a box set encompassing every movie. Until then, we’ll probably have to keep busy by rewatching Avengers: Endgame.
