The Hulk Might Be Getting His Own Disney Plus Series

Disney+ is being designed as a Netflix-killer, with the House of Mouse sparing no expense in bringing their biggest IPs to it. At the San Diego Comic Con, we got a little more information on The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki and Hawkeye, but it seems that this line-up is set to expands dramatically. We already knew from Kevin Feige's comments that they have the MCU's Phase 5 already mapped out, and this will contain more Disney+ series. And one of those is due to be unveiled soon - possibly as soon as the D23 Expo that takes place this coming weekend.

We already knew from Kevin Feige’s comments that they have the MCU’s Phase 5 mapped out, and that it’ll bring us even more Disney Plus shows. Furthermore, one of them is due to be unveiled soon. Possibly at D23 this coming weekend.

At least, that’s according to MCU Cosmic, who say that another big MCU series is set premiere on the platform, but at this point, they’re unsure of what it could be. One guess, however, is that it’s a series for Ms. Marvel, a Pakistani-American teenager from Jersey City who idolizes Carol Danvers.

After being received well by Marvel fans, the character was granted her own title in 2014, thus becoming the first Muslim hero to headline her own comic book in the Marvel Universe. We know that Feige’s a big fan of Ms. Marvel, too, having confirmed that something’s in the works for her during an interview in the run-up to the release of Captain Marvel.

“Ms. Marvel, which is another character in the comic books, the Muslim hero who is inspired by Captain Marvel is definitely sort of in the works. We have plans for that once we’ve introduced Captain Marvel to the world.”

But that’s not the only option, as MCU Cosmic notes that this new series might be for the Hulk instead, with the outlet writing:

Last year when I learned about The Eternals and the plans for a solo Hawkeye project, I was also told there were plans for the Hulk beyond Avengers 4, but those were much further out than either Eternals or Hawkeye. It’s possible those Hulk plans involve a Disney+ event series due to the issues surrounding a solo Hulk movie.

While a project for Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk would certainly be exciting, could a Disney Plus series really afford to show the levels of destruction necessary to realize the character on the small screen? That remains to be seen, but some supporting MCU characters may also warrant a show of their own. What about a series revolving around Valkyrie transforming life in New Asgard? Or something that introduces heroes with toned down powers like Moon Knight?

Whatever it is that the studio’s got planned for us, we should find out this weekend at D23, but at the moment, we’d say the two most likely candidates are the ones put forth by MCU Cosmic: the Hulk and Ms. Marvel. And who knows, we may even get shows for both?
