Thor: Love And Thunder Star Natalie Portman Has The Perfect Response To Brie Larson Lifting Mjolnir

Brie Larson made Marvel fans' days yesterday when she shared a snap of herself lifting Thor's hammer, jokingly proving that Captain Marvel is worthy of wielding Mjolnir. However, the actual owner of the Asgardian weapon is getting a little jealous. No, not Chris Hemsworth's God of Thunder but Jane Foster, the Mighty Thor herself and star of Thor: Love and Thunder.

Brie Larson made many people’s day yesterday when she shared a snap of herself lifting Thor’s hammer, jokingly proving that Captain Marvel is worthy of wielding Mjolnir. However, the actual owner of the Asgardian weapon is now getting a little jealous. No, not Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder, but Jane Foster, the Mighty Thor herself and star of Thor: Love and Thunder.

The Captain Marvel actress posted the photo along with the caption: “Not to be whatever, but….told you I could lift it.” Then, Portman replied a few hours later with the perfect response: “Hey muscles, easy with my hammer!!!” Fans went crazy for the comment, too, with it garnering just over 35,000 likes at the time of writing.

As you can see in the screenshot below, fellow MCU star Michael B. Jordan also commented on Larson’s post with a duo of crying with laughter emojis. Jordan himself might have found the image funny, but his character Killmonger would no doubt be scheming to get hold of the hammer so he could use it to take over Wakanda again.

As for Portman, this is just the latest sign that the actress is now once again a firm member of the Marvel family, after being absent from the franchise since 2013’s Thor: The Dark World. It was revealed at Comic-Con, to the surprise of everyone, that she would be back for Love and Thunder, but this time not just as Thor’s love interest but as the one with the superpowers herself. Since then, Portman’s teased her physical transformation for the part, promising that she’s going to get “jacked” to be worthy of wielding the hammer.

It’d be cool if the Mighty Thor and Captain Marvel could team up together on screen in the future of the MCU and it seems it’s possible that could happen, as We Got This Covered has heard that there are plans for both characters to feature in Avengers 5. But that’s a ways off for now.

Closer to home, Thor: Love and Thunder drops on November 5th, 2021, with filming kicking off early next year.
