The long-awaited first glimpses of the new Black Widow costume have finally arrived. Contrary to what one might expect, however, the outfit this time around is decidedly less dark than what audiences are used to. The spy’s new look features a gray and black color scheme, as opposed to her usual all-black outfit. This is because Black Widow takes place just after the events of Captain America: Civil War, during which she and the rest of her squad operated outside of the law. It remains to be seen how the new suit holds up in her battles against Taskmaster and others though, especially considering that this film will reportedly have more fight scenes than any other pic in MCU history.

Despite what we already know about the timeline, some fans are still holding out hope that the movie will be set in an alternate universe. After all, Natasha Romanoff has grown so much as a character over the past few installments in the MCU franchise and it’s a shame that audiences will never get to see what lies ahead for her. Still, it’ll be nice to watch the badass assassin duke it out onscreen in a solo movie of her own, but it’ll also be somewhat sad to watch considering what everyone already knows about her ultimate fate at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

That being said, these set photos definitely have plenty of people excited for the upcoming feature and as always, keep checking We Got This Covered for more information about Black Widow ahead of its debut in theaters on May 1st, 2020.
