Ant-Man And The Wasp’s Ghost May Return To The MCU

Although the future role of Ant-Man and the Wasp as characters in the MCU is currently a bit up in the air, it's likely we'll still see the characters and plots in future movies. Hannah John-Kamen, who played Ghost in Ant-Man and the Wasp, is certainly not ruling out a return for her character in new franchise entries. According to an interview with Yahoo! Movies in the UK, John-Kamen still has a contract with Marvel that gives them the option to re-use Ghost.

Although the future role of Ant-Man and the Wasp as characters in the MCU is currently a bit up in the air, it’s likely we’ll still see the heroes and their arcs continue on in future movies. Hannah John-Kamen, who played Ghost in the Ant-Man sequel, is certainly not ruling out a return for her character in new franchise entries. According to an interview with Yahoo! Movies in the UK, John-Kamen still has a contract with Marvel that gives them the option to re-use her.

“In the MCU, you have to sign your contract with blood and they stitch your mouth together. All I can say is that Ghost didn’t die.”

Ghost, otherwise known as Ava Starr, gains the ability to become intangible and wield significant power after a quantum accident that killed her parents. Used as an operative by S.H.I.E.L.D., she crosses paths with Scott and Hope in an attempt to use Hank Pym’s Quantum Tunnel to cure her degenerating body. Saved by Janet van Dyne, Starr then goes into hiding and is presumably still out there after the Snap.

As well as her MCU turn, John-Kamen has appeared in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the Tomb Raider reboot and Ready Player One. She’s also one of the stars of Killjoys and has played supporting roles in the likes of Game of Thrones and Black Mirror. Furthermore, John-Kamen is providing the voice of the Gelfling Naia in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, which premieres on Netflix today. In other words, she’s a highly in-demand actress and Marvel would be wise to keep hold of her.

In terms of the general future of Ant-Man and the Wasp, we’ve previously reported on the characters being sidelined in Phase 4 of the MCU. Given that Scott Lang was a key part of Avengers: Endgame, and a script for Ant-Man 3 may be ready though, it seems that Ant-Man and his supporting players like Ghost will most likely still have small cameo roles within the MCU, at least for the next few years.
