Dr. Suess’ beloved children’s tale, The Lorax is coming to the big screen thanks to Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment. Today, new images of these classic characters – the Once-ler and the truffalo trees – have been released exclusively to Entertainment Weekly.
The Once-ler, voiced by Ed Helms, is a greedy entrapenuer that settles in the area after discovering the Truffalo trees. He soon builds a business around them, manufacturing multi-functioning clothing – thneeds – and bringing in all sorts of environmentally unfriendly people to help with the process. After he depletes the area of its natural resources, everyone moves on, leaving him alone in the misery he created.
The film with feature the voices of Zac Efron, Taylor Swift, Danny DeVito, Rob Riggle, and Betty White.
The Lorax is set to be released in 3D on March 2, 2012.
