Jason Sudeikis has been cast alongside Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis in the upcoming political comedy Dog Fight. The film, which is being helmed by Austin Powers and Meet the Parents director Jay Roach, follows rival politicians in a cutthroat election in a small South Carolina congressional district.
First Showing is reporting that Dog Fight was originally supposed to follow Farrell and Galifianakis as they ran against each other in the 2012 presidential election. The political race was changed to a congressional seat in South Carolina to make the comedy more believable.
Dog Fight has the potential to show politics in a funny light, as Sudeikis has proved his comedic talents in this past summer’s Horrible Bosses, and on Saturday Night Live since 2005. Chris Henchy, who has found success as one of the co-creators of the comedy video website Funny or Die and has penned such comedy shows as Entourage and Spin City, is writing the script with Shawn Harwell.
What do you think of Sudeikis’ casting in Dog Fight? Will be he a good fit?
