PSN To Get Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath By The End Of 2011

Us PSN users have been a lucky bunch this year, haven't we? Aside from that pesky security breach earlier in the year, we've been given free games all year round that more than make up for any of the network's shortcomings. If you're like me and constantly downloading game after game, then get ready to make some room in your queue because Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is making a surprise return.

Us PSN users have been a lucky bunch this year, haven’t we? Aside from that pesky security breach earlier in the year, we’ve been given free games all year round that more than make up for any of the network’s shortcomings. If you’re like me and constantly downloading game after game, then get ready to make some room in your queue because Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is making a surprise return.

Developer Just Add Water has been doing a little work on this critically acclaimed Xbox classic, making sure to touch up the visuals and give it a beautiful HD polish. They also made sure to fix whatever bugs were lying around while also upgrading the already marvelous character models. For those of you over in Europe, Christmas comes early when Stranger’s Wrath is released on December 21. Us American folks will have to wait until December 27 to jump back into Oddworld.

For those of you who can’t get enough of your Playstation Move or your 3D TV, you’re in luck. Just Add Water will release an update in a “couple months” that will support these features. If you’re a PC gamer, you’ll be getting the HD remake in a few months as well.

Is anybody else excited for the classic Oddworld experience to get some polish? The clever and hilarious weapons mixed with the odd inhabitants and just generally awesome feel of the game are worth another playthrough in my opinion. Let us know if you’re ready for another visit to Oddworld in the comments!
