Doctor Strange 2 Theory Says The Film Will Introduce The MCU’s Next Big Bad

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sounds like it could be the MCU movie with the scope yet, which is really saying something after Avengers: Endgame, but it may just have the edge thanks to dipping into the whole wide multiverse. It's bound to be a key installment in Phase 4, then, likely teeing things up for later films and TV show to pick up. We know, for instance, that it will feature an important character Marvel have been wanting to use for a while. But who could it be?

Last December, Kevin Feige revealed this fascinating tidbit while speaking to the New York Film Academy. He said that “there was a character who we always wanted to do something with who will fit really well” into Doctor Strange 2. Of course, he stopped short of spelling out who he was talking about, but ScreenRant has revisited this enigmatic statement and offered a few suggestions about who it could be.

Their theories include Kang the Conqueror, Galactus and Captain Britain, but perhaps the most compelling suggestion is Doctor Doom. Fans might be expecting to see the ruler of Latveria debut in the next Fantastic Four reboot, but we’ve already had three movies featuring the Four vs. Doom, so it’s definitely time for a change. Dropping him in DS2, specifically, could make a lot of sense, too. Like Strange and Wanda Maximoff, who’ll be a prominent part of the sequel, Doom is a powerful sorcerer.

There’s a strong feeling that, following WandaVision, Doctor Strange 2 will see Wanda going fully off the deep end and Strange having to stop her from destroying reality. It could even be that Doom senses her potential and corrupts her. Nightmare will be the movie’s main villain, but Doom could feature in a supporting role before returning elsewhere.

Tell us, though, do you think there’s any truth to this Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness theory? Let us know by dropping a comment down below.
