Will the obsession with this book never end?

Bestselling romance author Nicholas Sparks confirmed that The Notebook, his first novel, is being adapted into a musical. Sparks didn’t reveal many more details, but it sounds like he might be working with the people who helped bring his books to the screen.

“The best way that I’ve always found, and it’s what I’ve done in Hollywood or whether it’s working with the publishers that I’ve worked with for a long time is to work with people that you really trust who understand what it’s about and they want to take that and mold it into something new,” he said.

The Notebook became the ultimate chick-flick when it was released in 2004, bringing its stars Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams into the spotlight.

I’m a sucker for musicals, but I’m not sure how The Notebook could be adapted into one. Isn’t Alzheimer’s a bit too touchy of a subject to sing about?
