Canadian actor Brendan Meyer, who is most known for starring in Disney XD’s teen sitcom Mr. Young, has been cast in the upcoming film adaptation of Ender’s Game. The 17-year-old will be playing Stilson, a bully who fights Ender in the beginning of the novel.

Without giving much away, Ender’s fight with Stilson holds more significance than Ender realizes, making Meyer’s role a bigger deal than it would seem. He probably won’t have much screen-time on the film, but when he does, it will be meaningful.

Brendan Meyer will be joining Asa Butterfield as Ender Wiggin. In terms of other casting, Hailee Steinfeld (Petra Arkanian) and Ben Kingsley (Mazer Rackham) are both in negotiations for the film as well.

I’ll admit that I’ve seen a few episodes of Mr. Young in my time, and while Meyer doesn’t seem like the bully type to me, I think he has the right “look” to play Stilson.

Is Brendan Meyer a good casting choice for Stilson in Ender’s Game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
