Twitch has learnt that Amander Seyfried and Taylor Swift have been offered the roles of Cosette and Eponine, respectively, in Tom Hooper’s Les Miserables. For those unfamiliar with the story, Cosette is actually the daughter of Anne Hathaway‘s character, Fantine.
There is talk that director Tom Hooper will actually have the actors sing their parts as well and not use doubles, which is where Seyfired’s singing background, which includes opera training, will certainly come in handy.
The only possible problem that Seyfried may face is the fact that she is currently shooting Lovelace, and Les Miserables begins shooting within the month. Obviously with Lovelace well underway, it will wrap before Les Miserables so hopefully Seyfried will be able to do both.
As for Swift, she reportedly beat out Scarlett Johannson, Evan Rachel Wood and Lea Michele for the part. It is unclear whether she has accepted the role though, but it seems very unlikely that she would pass.
Les Miserables stars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, Eddie Redmayne and Aaron Tveit, and will be in cinemas on December 7th, 2012.
