Despite what you may think, we have not seen the last of Jack Bauer, he’ll be back and now we know when to expect him. During the Fox panel at the Broadcasting Company Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, Kiefer Sutherland, star of 24, confirmed that the film will start shooting sometime in April or May of this year.

Furthermore, Sutherland said that the film will, like the show, take place over one 24 hour day and plot-wise, is a “relatively direct continuation” of the series finale.

Nothing else was revealed but it’s good to know that the project is now out of limbo and will actually be gearing up for production in the near future, if all goes according to plan.

Truthfully, it’s tough to comment on the film as we really don’t know much at this point. While I did love the show (despite the last few seasons dropping in quality), I’m still hesitant as to whether a film version will work out.

If nothing else, it will be nice to see Sutherland back as Jack Bauer, a role he absolutely aces. Aside from that, I’ll reserve my judgement on this one until we know more.
