New Image Of Daniel Craig In Skyfall

The 23rd film in the James Bond franchise, Skyfall, is currently in production. As usual with films that are big events, details on the movie are being kept suitably under wraps. The 23rd film in the James Bond franchise, Skyfall, is currently in production. As usual with films that are big events, details on the movie are being kept suitably under wraps. However, the website 007.com has released a new image from Skyfall which shows Daniel Craig as Bond looking appropriately moody and unshaven.

The film is directed by Sam Mendes, which marks an interesting point in his career. Mostly known for his intense character dramas, such as the acclaimed American Beauty, this will be his first step into the action genre. This is something that producers are seemingly keen to do, finding a director who is known for providing drama instead of thrills. They tried it last time on Quantum of Solace with Marc Foster at the helm and it spectacularly backfired.

However, I’m still keen to see what Mendes does with the franchise and I’m very much looking forward to the film, for a number of reasons. I’m a big James Bond fan and any film that they release I will happily pay to see. Secondly, the cast Mendes and his team have assembled is nothing short of amazing.

They have regulars Craig and Judi Dench reprising their roles, but alongside them there is Javier Bardem playing the villain of the piece, Ben Whishaw as gadget master Q, Naomi Harris as a love interest, Helen McCrory as an MI6 agent and Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney and Ola Rapace in unspecified roles. Surely one of the most impressive casts ever for a Bond film. Plus the synopsis, which you can read below, is nothing but intriguing.

In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

Skyfall will be released in the UK on October 26th, and hitting US audiences on November 9th.
