My Hero Academia season six was yet another phenomenal season from the anime series that has taken the world by storm. The season left us on a cliffhanger as now All for One has escaped his confines and will likely result in all our heroes working together to bring him down, so when can we expect season seven?
So far, My Hero Academia has been pretty consistent with its releases, with a season released each year roughly 12 months from the end of one to the beginning of another, so season five went from March to September 2021 and season six from October 2022 to March 2023. If we go by this, when should we expect the seventh season?
When might season seven of My Hero Academia be released?
If the aforementioned timeframe continues with the next installment, we can likely expect the seventh season to arrive sometime in the spring of 2024.
There is an issue, though, in that if we look again at how the anime has been following the manga, we might have caught up to it already, meaning there may be a little longer of a wait as Kōhei Horikoshi, the manga’s writer and illustrator, continues to create and craft it. Season six covered 70 chapters of Horikoshi’s manga, covering the Paranormal Liberation War and Dark Hero arcs, ending in chapter 328. Season seven, announced at the end of season six, would likely cover #329 (jumping in from where it left off) to #399.
In saying that, Horikishi works fast, with his most recent chapter release being #392. We are unsure if season seven will be the last for the anime, but the show has been building itself up to reach its conclusion. Fans should get to see two arcs at least in the upcoming season, the Stars and Stripes arc followed by the U.A. Traitor arc. The former will see the introduction of one of the coolest quirks in the whole anime, New Order, which allows American Hero Cathleen Bate a.k.a Star and Stripe to set new rules about the world around them.
It is likely that, given that the above two arcs are not very long, we may see some of the finale storylines come into play in season seven before possibly ending with season eight. Horikishi did state back in 2021 that he thought the manga would be done the following year, in 2022, but he is still going strong right now, so who knows when the end will be exactly. Many believe the Spring 2024 window is the most reliable, but WGTC will update you with an exact date as soon as the news is made public.
You can watch My Hero Academia seasons one through seven on Disney+, Crunchyroll, and Netflix.
