The Nun Shatters Franchise Record With Massive Opening Weekend
Despite a shaky critical reception (28% on Rotten Tomatoes at time of writing), the latest entry into The Conjuring franchise has proven that horror is healthier than it's been in decades. This weekend, The Nun raked in a whopping $131 million worldwide, on a budget of just $22 million. Broken down, that's $53.5 million on home turf and $77.5 million coming in from overseas, making for a very, very impressive haul.

Seriously, what the heck's going on with Bad Boys 3 (aka Bad Boys For Life), Sony's long in development sequel to 2003's Bad Boys II? It's been well over a decade since Will Smith and Martin Lawrence showed up on screen as Detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, and fans have been asking for more ever since their last appearance. Despite that, however, the studio hasn't moved forward yet with a third installment in the series.

William Shatner Thinks Chris Pine’s Doing The Right Thing With Star Trek 4
While there are those who feel that Paramount's rebooted Star Trek film franchise is not entirely dependent on Chris Pine, you have to admit that it just wouldn't be the same without him. As the beating heart of the series, we'd be pretty surprised if the studio made a fourth installment without the actor, but that's now the prospect that they're facing seeing as he's walked away from the project due to a salary dispute.
