I Spit On Your Grave (2010) Blu-Ray Review

With the recent remake of The Last House On The Left and an upcoming remake of Straw Dogs, you knew it was just a matter of time before someone decided to remake Meir Zarchi's I Spit On Your Grave. Is it a film that needs to be remade? Questionable. Is it a film that needed to be made in the first place? Well, that's even more questionable. The original I Spit On Your Grave, which came out back in 1978, is a notorious film, at least for film buffs and horror fans. Since its release, the film has been universally condemned for its depictions of rape, torture and violence. The original was extreme exploitation cinema at its best. It was brutal, relentless, unforgiving and remains as one of the most controversial films in history. It was going to take a brave man to attempt to remake it, but luckily, the studio found Steven Monroe and so now we have a remake. The question is, is it any good?

Exclusive Interview With The Cast And Dirctor Of I Spit On Your Grave

To celebrate the release of I Spit On Your Grave (2010) and I Spit On Your Grave (1978) on Blu-Ray this week, we decided to sit down with the cast and crew of the film and talk to them about both the remake and the original. We chat with Sarah Butler and Chad Lindberg who star in the remake, and we also chat with Steve Monroe and Meir Zarchi. Monroe directed the remake and Zarchi was the executive producer on the remake as well as the director of the original. Check out the interviews below. For those unfamiliar with the film, it follows Reynolds' character Paul Conroy, who wakes up in a coffin six feet underground, with no idea of how or why he ended up there. As his time is running out, he struggles to survive and find out exactly why he's in this situation. Cobie Smulders In Negotiations For The Avengers

Cobie Smulders, best known for her role as Robin in the TV show How I Met Your Mother, is in negotiations to join The Avengers. If she joins, she'll play SHIELD agent Maria Hill, sidekick to Nick Fury, who will be played by Samuel L. Jackson. Smulders tested for the role this week and apparently it's all but confirmed that she will join. Director Joss Whedon has had his eye on Smulders for a while and apparently he originally wanted her for Wonder Woman back when he was looking at developing that project.

Darren Aronofsky Reveals Noah As His Next Project

Coming off the very scuccessful Black Swan, director Darren Aronofsky had many people thinking that his next film would be a comic book adaptation. A few people even thought he would take on the Batman universe once Nolan was done with it. Well now it looks as if Aronofsky is indeed doing a comic book adaptation, just not Batman. Instead, he'll take on Noah, by Canadian artist Nico Henrichon. Aronofsky recently spoke about the project and had the following to say:

James Franco To Star In Sam Raimi’s Oz, The Great And Powerful?

Sam Raimi may have finally found a star for his upcoming film Oz, The Great And Powerful. If you've been following the film, you'll remember that Mr. Downey Jr. was going to star. When he dropped out, Mr. Depp came on board, but then he to dropped out. Now it seems as if Mr. Raimi has turned his attention towards none other than James Franco, who has become something of a hot commodity in Hollywood ever since his spectacular performance in Danny Boyle's 127 Hours. Nothing is confirmed but they are in talks and I don't see why Franco wouldn't sign onto a project like this. Especially considering he has already worked with Raimi in the past.

Super Bowl TV Spots For Rango, Drive Angry 3D And Limitless

With the Super Bowl going down this weekend, you can expect to see enough TV spots. A couple have already hit the internet and today we get two more. The spots for Rango, Drive Angry 3D and Limitless have been released and you can check them out below. In case you haven't been keeping up on your movies, Rango is the new animated film from Gore Verbinski and starring none other than Johnny Depp. Drive Angry 3D is Nicolas Cage's new flick which looks quite awesome actually and as for Limitless, it's a film that I'm actually really excited for. Starring Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro, the film tells the story of slacker copywriter named Eddie whose life isn’t exactly going places. One day he’s offered a pill, a new drug that apparently allows people to unlock the full potential of their brains. Eddie takes the drug and it changes his life, allowing him to do things that he never thought were possible.

Arrested Development Movie Coming In 2011?

The Arrested Development movie is almost a myth at this point. It pops up every now and then and legions of fans hope for it to become a reality, but as quickly as it surfaces up, it disappears. The film really is long overdue and it's about time we got one. Luckily, we may be seeing the movie sooner than we think. While speaking to Digital Spy, creator Mitch Hurwitz revealed some details about the potential film. He has confirmed that he is indeed working on a script for it and the film can still become a reality. When asked about the film, he said the following, “we’ve started that process and it is our sincere hope to shoot it this year and get it out this year…That’s what we’re hoping, but a lot of things have to fall into place for that to happen.”
