This year will see a showdown between two White House thrillers, with Antoine Fuqua's Olympus Has Fallen hitting theaters in March, and Roland Emmerich's White House Down on big screens at the end of June. The battle has officially begun, as we now have the first trailer for Olympus Has Fallen.
Pain & Gain marks a lot of milestones for Michael Bay. It's his first movie since The Rock to cost under $100 million, it's his first movie since 2005 that doesn't feature cars turning into robots, and best of all it's his first movie in a long time that looks like it will actually be fun to watch.
If you're anything like me, your first thought reading that headline is: "Blockbuster still has 300 stores?" Apparently yes they do, but the number is dwindling as closing 300 stores will mean the video rental franchise will only have about 550 stores left in the United States. For those who aren't mathematically inclined, that means about 35% of existing stores are being shut down. Yikes.
The first thing I'll say about tonight's episode of How I Met Your Mother, Ring Up!, is it's about time we saw Ted dating again! For weeks I've sounded like a broken record repeating how the reason this season hasn't reached the same level of the past ones is the show has lost sight of the focus on Ted's journey. As great as the small hints at who the mother is are, it's just as important to show all the failed relationships Ted had along the way.
Zal Batmanglij returned to Sundance this year with his newest film The East which he co-wrote with star Brit Marling. So far the thriller has received mostly positive reviews, and now the first trailer for the film has hit the web.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt's directorial debut, Don Jon's Addiction, premiered over the weekend at Sundance to mostly positive reviews. Multiple studios had expressed interest in the film including CBS Films, Lionsgate/Roadside and The Weinstein Company, but eventually Relativity Media offered an outstanding figure that the other studios weren't willing to match.
While much of Hollywood is stuck with a negative reputation, it's always good to see an actor going out of their way with an act of pure kindness for one of their fans. One of those uplifting stories is what we bring you today. On Friday, Christian Bale called one of his biggest fans, Zach Guillot, an 8-year-old child who's battling Leukemia, showing that he doesn't need a cape and a cowl to be a hero.
So far two red band trailers for Evil Dead have been released, showing some of the the goriest footage ever seen in a preview. Now we have the first green band trailer, and although it may be considered appropriate enough to show to wide audiences, it definitely isn't any less terrifying than the first two trailers we've seen.
Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer has repeatedly claimed that no sequel will be made for his 2009 film, but that hasn't stopped fans from hoping for more of Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, and Little Rock. If you're one of those eager fans itching to see more, you're in luck, as there's now news of CBS putting together a show based on the popular movie.
