This week's release list sees Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City and its infectious creatures turning a poor city into an unfortunate battleground. Its cooperative gameplay combines with full online play, in order to deliver a team-based experience that is different from what the franchise has ever featured.
Steampunk is alive and well within Dishonored, an in-development title that mixes elements from our civilization's past, present and potential future, in order to create a unique open world environment. Throwing players into a vengeance-filled storyline, the game showcases a plot line where a distinguished guard has been framed for royal assassination. Itching for more bullet-time goodness? Well, you're in luck. Rockstar Games has released a new batch of screenshots for its springtime shooter, Max Payne 3. Its impressive destructible environment system is showcased in one, while a couple of the others show the iconic American city during its coldest season.
Technology is a wonderful thing, and it's amazing how quickly it progresses. Just look at Max Payne 3 in comparison to it most recent predecessor, which is less than a decade old. So much has changed during that span of time, allowing developers to create much more advanced and increasingly cinematic experiences, which continually wow us. Rockstar Games' next venture into the aforementioned series' dark and gritty world looks to be yet another one of those impressive releases. That fact is evident after viewing its latest Design and Technology Series trailer.
During its Sleeping Dogs (formerly True Crime: Hong Kong) development process, United Front Games put a great deal of effort into creating an immersive and realistic version of the Chinese capitol. Since the game focuses on the Triad gang, which has long-serving historical ties with the city, this effort was doubly important.
This coming week, the battle for Raccoon City will be ignited again, with Capcom's impending release of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Within its confines, fans of interactive horror will interact inside of a nightmarish storyline that takes place between the events of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. The result is a class-based experience, which delivers pulse-pounding action, as well as three unique teams.
