Wolfenstein: The Old Blood boasts a ton of content for a rather tiny price tag, but ends up suffering from some of the same design issues that held its predecessor back. Still, there's a solid and enjoyable game here, and it's one that first-person shooter fans will want to add to their collections.
Slice Zombies for Kinect is merely a bland and disappointing Fruit Ninja Kinect clone. Save your money unless you're desperate for an excuse to dust off your Kinect.
It's official: the next Tony Hawk-branded video game will, indeed, be called Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5. Not only that, but it's being developed with a keen eye on returning to what made the series popular in the first place. That means there won't be any more motion-controlled peripherals or gimmicks, which is great news and a definite relief. That said, it has been noted that skaters will be able to shoot projectiles (for certain objectives) and use power-ups - two things that hopefully won't ruin the gameplay.
Shovel Knight is a fantastic game, which deserves all of the praise that it's received since launching last year. Now available on the Xbox One with iconic bonus content, it's even better than before and is a no-brainer of a purchase.
If you intend to enjoy the full Batman: Arkham Knight experience, then you'll want to make sure to have a decent chunk of cash set aside for DLC purchases. Why is that? Well, the game's newly announced Season Pass comes in at a whopping $39.99 USD and $44.99 Canadian.
This is a bad day for us horror-loving gamers, as one of our biggest fears has come true. That is, the apparent cancellation of Silent Hills, the fantastic-looking series reboot from directors Guillermo del Toro and Hideo Kojima.
Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China doesn't look like an outcast, but its tedious and bland gameplay make it the ugly duckling of the Assassin's Creed franchise. That's not to say that it's a bad or awful game; it's simply boring and forgettable, despite featuring decent mechanics and great presentation values.
In continuing his efforts as a brand ambassador, Tony Hawk has once again taken to Twitter to promote his upcoming, untitled skateboarding game that many think will be called Tony Hawk 5, or perhaps even Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5. This effort -- which comes in video form with a bit of text joking about how the game was recently "leaked" -- will certainly pique the interest of longtime fans, and create some old-school nostalgia.
Although it's chock full of zombie-based content, State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition hasn't come to Xbox One and PC without many of its original flaws in tow. If you can overlook technical issues, such as frame rate lag and glitchy animations, then there's a solid game to be found here. It's tough to wholeheartedly recommend, though, because there was ample time to iron out at least some of these glaring kinks.
