With the Thanksgiving holiday looming tomorrow, Valve has decided to bless our PC’s with a four day sale. While the Steam Autumn Sale pales in comparison to their Winter and Summer sales, we’re assured to have some great deals over the next couple of days.
Borderlands 2 has been a favorite here in the We Got This Covered bunker, and for good reason. The tight gunplay, over the top story and literal piles of loot waiting for you around every corner made this one of the year's “must play” games. In the second bit of DLC, you’re going to be hanging out with Mr Torgue and partaking in his favorite activity: making things explode as violently as humanly possible.
Once you're done feasting with the family, the only thing left to do is consumer commercial goods. We've put together a survival guide of the best deals to be found on Black Friday so you can save yourself time and money.
While Magical Drop V's core gameplay is still a blast, there are better games out there that offer the same experience without the bugs and horrid translation issues.
Primal Carnage is an absolute delight to play, but in its current state it’s hard to fully recommend. It’s really not advisable to buy a product on the basis of promises for the future, and what’s available now is a bit on the small end.
There’s nothing I found “bad” about the game, but there were few things I found that were really enjoyable, instead I was left with a bland title seemed like a good way to pass time until I was ready to play something else. Somehow, I don’t think that’s reason enough to pick this up.
Painkiller: Hell & Damnation falls short of being a great game due to an abbreviated campaign, a few bugs and a throw away story. But, if you're willing to overlook its faults and don't mind the short campaign, it can be an absolute blast tearing through waves of baddies with the insane arsenal.
Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams doesn't do anything to reinvent the wheel, but there's an enjoyable puzzle platforming experience here that brings some life to a dormant genre. If you've been looking for an old-school platformer to blow a few hours with, this is a game that should make it's way into your collection.
I was just having a talk with someone this morning at the WeGotThisCovered.com bunker about XCOM: Enemy Unknown and how we wished there was more content for it. It seems Firaxis was listening in (which is only slightly creepy) since they announced today that we can expect a pair of addons for the game. The first, entitled Slingshot Content Pack, is centered around three new maps tied to the game’s Council missions that pop up from time to time. You’ll also be gifted some more customization options for your soldiers and a new playable squad member. The new squad member is an ex Triad named Zhang who’s come into possession of some interesting technology that he wants to share with the XCOM project.
