December 25th is not only Christmas Day, it's also the release date of Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street. The film has had a relatively tumultuous time during the editing process, but it is finally ready for theatres. To whet our appetites for some good-old fashioned financial crime, Paramount has given us a couple of behind-the-scenes clips to enjoy today, which feature some B-roll footage from the film.
Gilligan's Island is about to receive the big-screen treatment after the show bowed on television almost half a century ago. Josh Gad, who was most recently heard in Frozen as the goofy snowman sidekick Olaf, will be co-writing the script and starring in the film.
Better Call Saul, the spinoff to the wildly popular Breaking Bad, is already headed into early production. The show will air on AMC, just like its older brother, but for those of us woefully cable-free folks that have been enjoying Breaking Bad on Netflix, Better Call Saul will be heading to that medium as well.
Netflix's House of Cards astounded viewers when the first season launched on the streaming service earlier this year. The political thriller filled with corruption, hatred and double-crosses was a perfect cocktail for a chilly February, and the David Fincher-produced drama went on to claim a Primetime Emmy and stronger Netflix membership. Season 2 is set for release early next year, and today sees the release of of a new trailer to get us all excited.
Taking over for Doug Liman on the second and third installments of the Bourne trilogy, director Paul Greengrass injected a ferocious energy into the films before he and Matt Damon stepped away from the franchise. Fans are hopeful that the pair will return soon, but unfortunately, the director appears to be done with Bourne movies for good.

Now it appears that it's Lionsgates turn to hop on the bandwagon as they've announced a new project that their working on, titled Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth.
Casting for the final two-part installment in the Hunger Games series, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, is now underway following the huge success of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Most of the roles have been filled already but this week Lionsgate announced the casting of Robert Knepper (Prison Break) as Antonius.
Kevin Smith's latest film, Tusk, has only been completed for a short while, but has been actively looking for a means to get marketing capital and distribution to movie theaters. Ending Smith's search quickly, fledgling distribution and finance company A24 (Spring Breakers, The Bling Ring) and Demarest Films have teamed up to co-finance and distribute the film, seeing it to completion for a release late next year.
Here's the first image for the upcoming drama The Judge, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall. Not a whole lot of meat to the shot, but it's got Duvall doing what he does best: pointing, and being dramatic. The film marks the first time David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers, The Change-Up) has moved into the dramatic scene. He's joined by screenwriter David Seidler (The King's Speech).
Fans of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit may have noticed something a bit odd in the trailer for the second film of Peter Jackson's trilogy, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. A certain archery-inclined elf named Legolas (Orlando Bloom) features prominently, despite not showing up once in the original book. As always, Jackson has his reasons, and it seems he plans to have Legolas serve as the connective tissue between the two Middle-Earth trilogies.
