A lot of things are dividing fans over the new Spider-Man series, but few more than the decision to quickly move forward with multiple villains. The upcoming Amazing Spider-Man 2 has no fewer than three villains, which of course was part of the downfall of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3. Sony's intention is, once again, to eventually build towards The Sinister Six in The Amazing Spider-Man 4, which will release in 2018. One thing they'll need to button down first, however, is getting Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker) on board, as the actor is only set for the first three films right now.
The biopic about legendary Queen frontman Freddie Mercury was in limbo for a short while following Sacha Baron Cohen's departure due to creative differences with the remaining members of the band. However, the movie is back on track now with the announcement that Ben Whishaw (Cloud Atlas, Skyfall) has been cast as the titular singer and Dexter Fletcher (Wild Bill) is set to direct.
Following the dismal Terminator Salvation and eventual downfall of FOX show Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, the Terminator series was in dire need of a fresh start. Now, after idling in development hell for years with occasional updates, we can now at the very least say that some headway has been made on another installment. As of today, the upcoming series' reboot will officially be called Terminator: Genesis.
BBC One's aggressively popular Sherlock series has captivated critics in part for its modern spin on the classic detective, though much praise for the show is also directed at performances from Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular sleuth and Martin Freeman as his partner Watson.
