Kaz Hirai of SCE has finally shed some light on an issue that many PSP owners have been wondering. The PSP2/NGP has been confirmed to not use UMDs, but instead will use flash cards similar to the DS. Many PSP owners have asked, what about all those PSP games I purchased?
Hirai during a recent interview stated that Sony is working with developers to bring digital versions of their games to the NGP. Also that games purchased for the PSP Go will be available to download on the NGP, and will run via emulation. The only thing we don't know is if a fee will be charged for transferring your UMD games to digital versions. Hopefully not.
