Though most of the recent conversations around Matt Reeves’ The Batman have concerned the question of who the next Caped Crusader will be, Ralph Fiennes has now thrown his hat in the ring to star as the next live-action Alfred Pennyworth.
In just under a month and a half, Avengers: Endgame will be bringing Marvel’s Phase 3 to a close, while most likely taking Thanos’ arc to its point of culmination. But once the Mad Titan is out of the picture, the question is raised of who the next big bad of the MCU will be, and in a new theory on Reddit, an answer is suggested that at least gets some points for creativity.
In this past week, Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins have both given social media shout-outs to Captain Marvel, and as it turns out, the respect between the two flicks goes both ways, as Brie Larson has now singled out Diana Prince as her favorite superheroine.
Though Carrie Fisher passed away back in December of 2016, Lucasfilm has announced plans to include Leia Organa in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX by way of unused footage from the production of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. And while we’ve yet to witness any scenes from J.J. Abrams’ upcoming trilogy-closer, Oscar Isaac has offered his assurance that the late actress’s presence can be felt in the movie.
As Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige admitted to IGN last year, the legal rights around comic book character Namor are “not as a clean or clear as the majority of the other characters.” Nonetheless, the producer also remarked that “there’s a way to probably figure it out,” and if what we’re now hearing is true, then Disney may have finally found a path for the Marvel antihero into the MCU.
With Avengers: Endgame likely to be the last time we ever see the original six Phase 1 heroes all in one place, Lad Bible recently polled their Twitter followers on their favorite of the team, and as it turns out, the God of Thunder just about comes out on top.
While Marvel Studios is likely to remain tight-lipped about their plans beyond 2019 at least until after the release of Avengers: Endgame next month, it’s been known for months now that director Scott Derrickson will be returning to the helm for Doctor Strange 2.
Now that Captain Marvel has finished its first weekend in cinemas, Anthony and Joe Russo’s Avengers: Endgame is next on the MCU agenda, and it looks like the movie’s final proper trailer is no more than a few weeks away from dropping.

We’re now less than a week away from seeing the Disney/Fox merger come into effect, and once that deal closes, we can expect Marvel Studios to push forward with plans for some of their newly acquired properties, be it the X-Men or the Fantastic Four. At the same time, it’s assumed that a few previously planned projects will be scrapped in the transition, and among the films that may or may not be in the firing line is a Doctor Doom movie.
