Now You See Me Director Louis Leterrier Is Returning For The Sequel

Louis Leterrier, director of Now You See Me, will be directing the film's sequel that was announced earlier this month, in case you were worried that some new director would step up and make the plot less complicated. Leterrier, who also directed 2008's The Incredible Hulk and Clash of the Titans, won't be writing the sequel but will be involved with the overall story.

Thor And Loki Get Posters For Thor: The Dark World

Marvel has released two new posters for Thor: The Dark World, one featuring a mighty action shot of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and the other revealing a more relaxed, yet still sinister-looking, Loki (Tom Hiddleston). While the poster with Thor pretty much just confirms the continued existence of the titular hero's hammer, the poster of Loki might be sightly more revealing.

NBC now has someone to star opposite of Carrie Underwood in its live holiday production of The Sound Of Music: Stephen Moyer, leading male actor of HBO's True Blood. The three-hour production will air on December 5 and will be based on the original 1965 Broadway show.

The Stand Will Be Directed By Scott Cooper Now

Scott Cooper will be replacing Ben Affleck to direct Warner Bros.' upcoming film adaptation of Stephen King's The Stand, presumably because Affleck will be a bit too busy playing Batman in the sequel to Man of Steel. The novel, which was made into an Emmy-award-winning mini-series in 1994, depicts a future where a virus has nearly wiped out all of mankind, leaving the survivors divided into groups of good and evil.

David Lowery And Casey Affleck Reunite For To Be Two

The duo of director/writer David Lowery and actor Casey Affleck of indie drama Ain’t Them Bodies Saints are working together on a new project: an artsy, sci-fi short story adaptation called To Be Two. THR reports that Affleck will star again in the Lowery-directed film, adapted by Lowery himself from the Paul Broks short story To Be Two or Not To Be.

Kill Your Darlings Review [Sundance 2013]

Years after Daniel Radcliffe was originally cast as poet Allen Ginsberg, rookie full-length film director John Krokidas's Kill Your Darlings finally premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. The film, co-written by Krokidas and Austin Bunn, explores Ginsberg's relationship with Lucien Carr (Dane DeHaan), which brought together now-legendary writers Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac (Jack Huston) and William Burroughs (Ben Foster). Michael C. Hall rounds out the phenomenal ensemble cast as David Kammerer, whose story would later be explored by Kerouac and Burroughs.

The East Review [Sundance 2013]

In The East, star and co-writer Brit Marling goes undercover to stop an anarchist group called "the East," that targets environmental defenders. True Blood star Alexander Skarsgard leads the group, with Ellen Page essentially at second-command. The film opens with a montage that pairs images of seaside and underwater creatures - whose habitat has been destroyed by an oil company - with footage of members of the East pumping oil into the house of the company's leader.

S-VHS Review [Sundance 2013]

S-VHS follows up 2012's V/H/S and keeps the same found-footage theme. In the film, private investigators break into the home of a missing student, only to find a series of tapes, which - for us - contain four horror short films. While each of the tapes contains a different subject, they all have one aspect in common: the supernatural. Given the shorter number of tapes in S-VHS than in V/H/S, each of the short films is relatively long, while the private investigator storyline is rarely on the screen.
