As was to be expected, last night's season finale of The Flash has left everybody reeling. In short, Cicada II was handily defeated, Eobard Thawne is now in the wind, Cisco Ramon apparently rode off into the sunset, and Nora West-Allen is dead. Yeah, I think we're going to be talking about this for months to come.
Even though Supergirl has rightfully placed much of the focus on the titular character herself, I can't help admitting that it's gifted us with what have arguably been some of the best interpretations of Superman and Lex Luthor in live action. In my view, Tyler Hoechlin's Man of Steel radiates the good-heartedness and wisdom the icon is known for, while Jon Cryer is downright diabolical and perfect as his archenemy. I'd go as far to say that Cryer is the second best Lex ever, right behind Smallville's Michael Rosenbaum.
If you've been keeping up with Supernatural, then odds are you were just as floored by season 14's finale as I. In my view, it was right up there with season 3, 5 and 11's concluding episodes. To put it mildly, it was quite the game-changer and effectively set up the final chapter of Sam and Dean's journey.
When it comes to Mortal Kombat on film, those of us who’ve long loved the franchise have been enduring a dry spell since 1997 – well, that is unless you count the TV and web series that followed. Still, Tinseltown has failed to test its might for 22 years now, so it’s high time the ball got rolling.
If you were to ask me which comic book movie I’m anticipating most in 2019, I’d have two answers for you. The obvious one is Joker because it’s being released theatrically in October, but overall, Batman: Hush takes the cake for me. It may be animated and direct-to-video, sure, but I’ve long waited for my favorite story featuring the Caped Crusader to be adapted to film.
More often than not, a given season finale of Arrow sets up wherever the story may go from there. But in the case of last night's offering, "You Have Saved This City," it could have easily functioned as a series finale. In fact, executive producer and showrunner Beth Schwartz said as much before it'd even aired.
With the season finales of various Arrowverse series now being upon us, the inevitable summer hiatus will come shortly. But before you know it, our favorite DC TV shows will resume and the next major crossover event, "Crisis on Infinite Earths," will grace airwaves.
If you’re a longtime fan of the Arrowverse, then you know of how the series comprising it have teased future big bads in seasons before they’re introduced. Actually, it’s Arrow that exercises this practice more often than not, but I’ll never forget how The Flash name-dropped Clifford DeVoe months before we met him as the formidable Thinker.
Now that the X-Men and Fantastic Four are officially under the Marvel Studios umbrella, the door has been opened to limitless storytelling possibilities. Even with Avengers: Endgame now in the rear-view mirror, there are still so many places for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to travel.
When Brandon Routh originally migrated over from Arrow to Legends of Tomorrow, I'm pretty sure he never thought that he'd one day find himself playing the big bad. But to the credit of Ray Palmer, he never really went to the dark side. Instead, he's been possessed by Neron in recent weeks and will soon unleash all kinds of hell.
