Love him or hate him, Mel Gibson never makes wimpish decisions when it comes to the work. He's handled a variety of opposing epochs, viewpoints and styles in his directorial duties. In front of the camera, he's demonstrated a capability for comedy, drama and action. So, professionally, while his efforts may be divisive, you can't question his unfettered commitment to film. Whether his highly-publicized private life holds any sway over your perception of him, may affect how intrigued you are by his next project - Hacksaw Ridge.
Following the sort-of successes - depending on who you talk to - of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues and Dumb And Dumber To, the time has come to revive another classic comedy franchise, Ben Stiller's Zoolander. Work on the follow-up has languished in development since 2010, when Justin Theroux was attached to write and direct the supermodel sequel. Over the last few months, we've heard from Theroux that a finished script was in the bag, followed by talk from Will Ferrell that a table read was imminent. Now, we've a piece of news to suggest Zoolander 2 might be heading into production sooner than expected.
Cinemax's horror comic adaptation, Outcast, is rounding out its cast (ahem), as THR reports five new names have joined Robert Kirkman's exorcism tale.
Based on the comic published earlier this year, Kirkman will executive produce and pen the pilot which revolves around Patrick Fugit's leading man Kyle Barnes. A troubled youngster who's been plagued by possession since he was a small boy, when he goes in search of answers to his life's woes he uncovers a secret that could end all life as we know it. The previously-announced Philip Glenister and Gabriel Bateman will accompany Fugit as a drunk preacher and possessed boy respectively.

The site alleges that the rumour originated from multiple sources which seemingly confirm the news. Ambitious filmmaker Tarsem Singh has a big name on his radar for the lead in his next feature, The Panopticon, as The Wrap reports that Keanu Reeves is in the crosshairs. Set up at Good Universe, the film looks set to continue the helmer's reputation for brain-busting sci-fi spectacles. The report offers a brief synopsis of the flick, which "follows a seemingly ordinary man who receives a mysterious package containing a pre-recorded message from himself, warning that the world is about to end and only he can save it. He must race against the clock to piece together the puzzle before time runs out for mankind."
Ridley Scott's sort-of Alien prequel, Prometheus, landed with a divisive thunk back in 2012. Despite a mixed reception, both its detractors and fans are eager to see where exactly Scott will take the two remaining survivors for the sequel, Prometheus 2. More importantly - what type of monsters can we expect?
With Marvel's ever-expanding Cinematic Universe crammed so full of characters, plots, and crossovers it's no surprise their bag of tricks has burst onto the small screen. Their new roster of TV shows has already found a home with streaming giant, Netflix, where they will all debut exclusively. Thanks to Deadline, who landed the scoop this morning, we now have an inkling as to who will be heading up their next series, Jessica Jones.

If you've not had enough of the time-dabbling age-pausing hijinks of sci-fi epic Interstellar, then you might want to pay close attention to Lionsgate's upcoming romantic drama. From filmmaker Lee Toland Krieger, The Age Of Adaline centres on Blake Lively as a young woman who is unable to age after a fateful accident, and thanks to Yahoo! Movies we've got our first look in the shape of the above trailer.
Since her first big turn as the dowdy Ann Veal in Arrested Development, Mae Whitman has emerged a solid actor with a ton of successful items on her resume. But, that's of no concern whatsoever when considering her role in upcoming comedy, The Duff. While the actress doesn't prescribe to the hyper-perfect aesthetic of many women in the industry, she's not what I would term a 'designated ugly fat friend' - a label attached to the character she plays in Ari Sandel's comedy.
