The Perks Of Being A Wallflower Blu-Ray Review

Writer Stephen Chbosky adapts his own novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower into one of the best coming-of-age tales I've seen in some time. His enduring and always truthful script helps draw attention to the incredible performances by Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Ezra Miller. It might have taken me a couple of viewings to really warm up to the film, but now I can't stop singing its praises.

Skyfall Blu-Ray Review

Resurrection is the real name of the latest James Bond film titled Skyfall. Acclaimed director Sam Mendes has done what most thought was impossible; he's successfully revived the financially struggling franchise. He's not only made a great follow-up to the disappointing Quantum of Solace, but he's also managed to make one of the better Bond films. Skyfall is slick, action-packed and exactly the James Bond film that we've all been waiting for.

Flight Blu-Ray Review

Director Robert Zemeckis returns to live action filmmaking after spending over a decade of his time with advancing motion capture technology. Really, Zemeckis couldn't have picked a better film to return with, because Flight is very much a human drama that gets by on its performances. Denzel Washington gives an Oscar-nominated performance that turns Flight into something truly special and something that soars high above its serviceable script.

Seven Psychopaths Blu-Ray Review

Writer and director Martin McDonagh returns to the big screen after a brief hiatus with Seven Psychopaths, a crime comedy with a sly agenda and more than seven oddball nut jobs that make the film a breeze to watch and something worth revisiting over and over. Seven Psychopaths is much more Pulp Fiction than it is a film about seven psychos committing murder, but that isn't to say it's without blood or violence.

Paranormal Activity 4 Blu-Ray Review

Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman return to direct the fourth entry in the Paranormal Activity series. Paranormal Activity 4 is easily the worst film of the series, barely registering as a horror movie, with not a single jump-scare deemed clever or worthy of this throwaway franchise. The best thing to come from this piss-poor entry is its box office intake, which was substantially lower than the previous installment.

WB Bringing The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey To Blu-Ray In March

Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey finally saw a release last December, where it made an impressive amount of cash around the world. The film was in production for what seemed to be ages, with Guillermo del Toro at one point slotted in as the director. Eventually, Jackson came back to the series that he helped make popular (The Lord of the Rings) to film the prequels with a familiar style and tone.

Fox Bringing Red Dawn To Blu-Ray In March

The Red Dawn remake is one of two films that struggled finding release after being put on the back-burner over at MGM for X amount of years. The first film was The Cabin in the Woods, which finally saw a release last April. Red Dawn had even more problems getting a release, at one point getting a CGI makeover so that the enemies weren't Chinese.

One of Steven Spielberg's most important films is hands down Schindler's List. The film is one of the most powerful pieces of dramatic filmmaking to cover the horrible events of the Holocaust that I've ever seen. It's an eye-opening film that shows just how horrible people can be and more importantly how life-changing they can be.
